Finansinspektionen (FI) has identified extensive quality deficiencies in the reporting of insurance firms. These deficiencies are a sign that the internal governance and control of many of the firms’ reporting procedures are unsatisfactory. Through this document, FI provides guidance for insurance firms for how they can strengthen their reporting procedures.
The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has published instructions on how to access the reference data that is covered by the MAR and MiFID II/MiFIR regulations. The EU authority has also published current reference data that is available for download.
EU Directive (EU) 2016/65 (MiFID II) limits the size of positions in commodity derivatives that persons can hold. The regulations also contain a requirement on monitoring and following up of these position limits. The provisions are supplemented by new, extensive reporting requirements regarding positions in commodity derivatives, emissions rights and derivatives thereof .

A new webpage is now available with information about the transaction reporting required under MiFID 2/MiFIR.
Tests will initially be on an early version of the system. The focus at the start will be on testing connectivity and confirming that it is possible to submit files and receive feedback. One external test environment will be available. It will be updated with new versions of the system several times during the year.
Starting in January 2018, new rules will go into effect for the EU securities market through MiFID II and MiFIR. The new rules apply to all firms providing investment services or activities.
